Files stay in the conversation.
Drop a file into chat and Neeos now keeps it, so you can come back tomorrow and ask about it. Plus: a Reject button that was deleting your writing.
Two problems from the same few days, both of which came down to the app being less careful with your things than it should have been.
A file you drop in should stay
Until September 5th, if you dropped a document into a chat, Neeos could read it right then, and then it was gone. Ask about it the next day and it had no idea what you meant. Now a file you drop into chat becomes a document that belongs to you, kept with the rest of your things, and it stays reachable from then on. That works on accounts that use encryption too, and the Mac app already handled it.
Two smaller fixes came with it. A spreadsheet's contents were reaching the AI as bare numbers instead of the words in the cells, so questions about a spreadsheet got useless answers. And a file the app couldn't read used to say nothing at all. Now it tells you.
The Reject button that deleted your sentence
When Neeos suggests a change to something you've written, you can accept or reject it. Reject is supposed to mean “keep what I had”. A bug made it do something worse. It removed your original sentence and left nothing in its place. Rejecting a suggestion could erase your own writing, silently. That is about the most basic promise an editor makes, and we broke it. It's fixed, and the same kind of check now sits behind it.
A few days later the same idea reached pictures: Neeos can now read the words in a photo on your phone and keep talking about the picture across several messages, rather than treating it as a one-turn fact.
