Everything we're building is after the release.
A line I drew on October 10th: the public app is the one in review, plus bug fixes. New things wait.
I have a bad habit with a good motive: when something is wrong, I want to fix it and improve three adjacent things along the way. During App Review that habit is dangerous. So on October 10th I drew a line.
The line
The public release is the version Apple is reviewing, plus bug fixes. That's all. Every other idea goes on my own build, and it waits until after release. There's one exception: the redesigned Momentum board, which I allowed on October 11th because it was already nearly done.
What I'm building anyway
The evening of the 10th, I set several things going in parallel on my own build. There's a morning Briefing, interactive cards the assistant can put inside an answer, which I'm calling Glances, and a Work space for meetings. None of these is in the public app, and none is promised for a date. They're experiments until they've lived on my phone long enough to earn it.
A thing that's gone
The animated sky background is out of every build. I told it to go: no gradient, no sky. It had been a signature look, but it didn't earn its place. Quiet beats clever.
Why say this out loud
Because the alternative is a blog full of features you can't download. I'd rather you know the public app is deliberately small and finished, and that the exciting things are clearly labeled as not yet here.
Written October 21, 2026 from the build log, and dated to when this happened.
